ENTRY TO WELLNESS?

My perspective of health and wellness shifted when I began experiencing cystic acne around age 21. I felt frustrated with my body and the medical system– no one could seem to truly help me figure out the root cause. I decided to work with my frustration and shift my lifestyle completely. I cleaned out my pantry, my products and started focussing on movement that supported my mental health—at the time I was strength training heavily. Growing up a dancer, gymnast and cheerleader allowed me to be physically healthy throughout my early childhood and teenage years. Developing cystic acne and later learning it was a symptom of PCOS was a turning point in my life. I now understand that health and wellness is a way of existing, living, being and showing up

Your Mission?

My work is my passion and focuses on supporting clients through their journey of creating lifestyle changes that last. Mindfulness and intentionality are the foundation that allow us to dive deeper into nutrition, movement, herbalism, hormonal health and more. Through mindful and intentional living, we are able to make choices that are in alignment with our truest selves. As a movement coach and personal trainer, I focus on functional, integrative and mindful movement. I teach clients the fundamentals of movement and how to move with ease and confidence. As a holistic health coach, we come back to the idea of creating lifestyle changes that feel supportive mind, body and spirit/soul.

Approach to wellbeing?

Fluid and forgiving with structure and intention. Deeply listening to my body's needs and desires. I don’t deprive myself of anything, rather I choose consciously with the awareness I have developed.

Good things going on...

In the fridge?

Greens (always), Cocojune plain coconut yogurt, MALK, lots of clean ingredient sauces. I am a sauce girl. Oh! And kraut!

In the pantry?

A million herbs in bulk for decoctions and infusions. Cinnamon at all times. Coconut aminos on deck. My guilty pleasure–plantain chips and a tasty granola

In the beauty cabinet?

Marie Veronique skincare. Mineral Fusion makeup, and a rosey lip color

On the bookshelf?

Currently The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran, dream interpretation and lucid dreaming books, Alain De Botton, and a good laugh—I Might Regret This by Abbi Jacobson

On the yoga mat?

Constantly inverting, a good strap for stretching, breathwork, silence

In the mornings?

Sunshine on my bones and in my heart, more silence, meditation, potion making (sometimes coffee, sometimes not), connecting with clients

Before bed?

Blue blocking glasses, lots of tea, occasionally a sauna blanket session at home, hot shower, dream preparation and oftentimes Curb Your Enthusiasm

Mantra

Chidananda Rupa Shivoham, Shivoham — “I am pure consciousness, I am bliss. I am Shiva, Shiva I am"

Ritual

Morning ritual — it changes slightly depending on how I am feeling. Waking up, dream journaling, heating water for tea or warm lemon water, a walk with the sun, no phone, no wifi, for a bit at least. Doing something to take care of myself, to tend to my energy before I work with clients. This sets me up to feel aligned and in tune.

Recipe

Caffeine free morning potion – Turmeric latte

Ingredients

1 ½ - 2 cups Milk of choice
(I love MALK brand almond or cashew)

1/4 tsp Turmeric

1/8 tsp Black Pepper

1/4 tsp Cinnamon

1 tbsp Healthy Fat
(I like bulletproof brand MCT oil)

2-3 tsp Sweetener

(I prefer monk fruit so no insulin spike!)

*optional: ¼ tsp Lions Mane, ¼ tsp Burdock, ¼ tsp Ashwagandha

Method

Heat milk and blend together!
